Code of Conduct
We aim to provide a safe and comfortable event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. If you feel unsafe, please let an event staff member know. Harassment will not be tolerated and actions may be taken, depending on severity at the discretion of the event directors.
No teaching on the social floor: Avoid giving feedback or teaching during social dances. Seek advice in designated revision sessions.
Respect physical comfort: Be mindful of partners' physical limitations, injuries, and experience. Avoid potentially harmful leads or moves.
Consent is key: Always ask for consent to dance and respect a "no" without pressure. Clearly ask "Would you like to dance?" and ensure a clear "Yes".
Respect boundaries: Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Avoid inappropriate physical contact, comments, jokes, or sexually suggestive moves. Don't pressure for multiple dances or use uncomfortable leads. No unsolicited explicit contact outside of the dance.
Be civil: Be polite, even when declining to interact with someone.
Report problems: Report any uncomfortable or inappropriate behavior confidentially via Facebook message to "Magnetic Dance", email to info@magneticdance.com.au, or by contacting any crew member.
