Take West Coast Swing Lessons in Perth with Magnetic Dance!
Ever wanted to take West Coast Swing lessons so you could enjoy the dance floor more often?
Well now you can! Learn West Coast Swing every Tuesday night at Magnetic Dance!
West Coast Swing & social dancing is a great way to have fun, add more exercise into your lifestyle, and meet new people! At Magnetic Dance, our dance lessons are fun and danced to a wide range of music. The Osborne Park Bowling Club also makes a great dance studio with a wooden dance floor and a bar to grab a drink or two before class.
We cater for all skill levels. You can be an absolute beginner with two left feet, or want to try a different style of dancing to what you may already be doing... We have lots of members who switched from Salsa to West Coast Swing (including James & Kim!). We also have some very experienced West Coast Swing dancers who are more than happy to dance with all members and enjoy the evening.
West Coast Swing is a partner dance that builds a great connection while you’re dancing. It’s very unique and because it’s a slower pace than fast dance styles (Salsa, Lindy Hop), its suitable for everyone and can be danced anywhere.
You don’t need dancing experience or a partner to attend our dance classes. Just come on down as you are, wear some comfortable clothing and a good pair of shoes and you’ll fit in with our friendly community of dancers.
What Is West Coast Swing?
West Coast Swing is a "swing" dance, but nothing like what you are probably imagining. Where many swing styles seem to emulate the era in which they were popularised, West Coast Swing has evolved (and still is!) with the times to create a smooth, easy and fun style that has exploded in popularity all over the world.
How Hard Is West Coast Swing To Learn?
West Coast Swing is made up of core patterns and variations to those patterns. In our beginners dance class, we teach the timing and steps for the core patterns so you have a great foundation to build on.
Even first time dancers pick up these patterns quickly and find themselves confidently enjoying a social dance with other members after just a few lessons.
